To all AIAOC Members: architects, associates, professional affiliates, board
members, volunteers and AIAOC staff -- Springtime is here! Soon
we will all enjoy the best of Southern California’s spring colors and warm
sunshine.
As the AIOOC treasurer for 2005, it is with great optimism, I am proud to
say, that we are seeing only positive numbers each month. Due to the hard work
both now and the over the years of so many dedicated board members, the Chapter
continues to meet membership and fundraising goals. It is with great pride
that I am able to say this is the Chapter that I have been serving for the
last four years.
This chapter receives approximately 40% of its annual budget from membership
dues. The balance is comprised of non-dues revenue that includes sponsorship
support from chapter programs and events such as the: Annual Golf Tournament,
Design Awards, Lifelong Learning programs, Lecture Series, and OC Architect.
The guidelines for the annual budget for the upcoming year are normally sketched
during the fall for the following year. The budget is then approved in November
at the monthly board meeting. The budget may then be revisited and adjusted
in response to different organizational needs and the budgetary challenges
due to a fluctuating economy.
As treasurer, it is my responsibility to provide AIAOC Board Members with
accurate financial reports to assist to charting the monthly progress of the
different chapter activities and make modifications as necessary.
Finally, all financial reports are reviewed by Belden Hutchinson & Co.,
LLC. an independent accounting firm. This process ensures AIAOC adheres to
Generally Accepted Accounting Principals in all its endeavors.
We THANK YOU Orange County: architects, associates, students, and allied professionals
for the support you show by joining AIAOC or by renewing your annual membership.
Your membership is your vote of confidence as we continue to strive for higher
even greater success!
