Call to Entry for Aspiring Young Architects
Irvine, CA -- The Orange County Chapter of The American Institute of Architects is hosting the Annual Student Design Competition culminating with an awards ceremony to be held on May 22, 2004 at the Crystal Cathedral's International Center for Possibility Thinking. In addition to hosting the event on this architectural award winning campus, the Dr. Robert H. Schuller, Hon. AIA will offer the opening invocation for the program, and present the awards to the winners.

President of Irvine based Danielian Associates, Arthur Danielian, FAIA, has been selected to chair this event. Danielian and his committee have chosen “Gateway to the Arts” as the theme for this year’s contest. Orange County students will be encouraged to push the envelope in creativity by designing an inventive public arts building for a chosen site in Santa Ana. This competition allows students to broaden their learning through several professional critique sessions and gives them the opportunity to enhance their career portfolio. Submissions will be judged by prominent local architects, and cash prizes will be awarded to the winning entrants.

The design competition is open to all architectural students attending Orange County colleges.

For further information contact Cheryl Steele at AIAOC at 949-675-8273, or Courtney Knapp at Danielian Associates 949-474-6030.
