“Providing solutions to design professional since 1979” is more of mission statement than a slogan for the law firm of Murtaugh Meyer Nelson & Treglia LLP. “We understand both the practice and the business of design professional firms,” says founding partner Michael Murtaugh; “and design professionals are the clients we enjoy the most.” Beginning with the defense of professional malpractice claims since before the firm was founded, various firm members have developed substantial expertise in most if not all of the areas of law which most affect design professional including especially professional service contract negotiation and litigation, intellectual property disputes, employment counseling and litigation, firm ownership transition and asset protection.

While the majority of firm member are frequently involved in the representation of A/E firms to some extent, those whose practices are particularly devoted to design professionals are Michael Murtaugh, Michael Nelson, Larry Treglia, Madelyn Enright, Susan Menkes, Stephanie Kitzes and Michelle Generaux.

Committed to providing services of high quality, MMNT enjoys the highest ratings for both competence and ethical conduct afforded by Martindale-Hubbell, the country's leading attorney rating service. Its members have extensive experience in successfully handling a wide variety of litigation in state and federal courts and various arbitration forums and administrative agencies, and in providing a wide range of business counseling and transactional services to a broad client base which includes a number of prominent Southern California A/E firms and several regional and national firms as well.

Founded in 1979 in Orange County, MMNT now handles litigation and transactional matters throughout Southern California from offices located in central Orange County and downtown Los Angeles, and through six heavily interrelated practice areas: business, construction, employment and labor, estate planning/asset protection, insurance coverage and litigation.

Aggressive in representing its clients and proud of its litigation track record, the firm nevertheless favors intelligent alternatives to wasteful lawsuits, counseling preventive contracting and risk management practices and dispute avoidance wherever appropriate, and consistently creating and capitalizing upon favorable resolution opportunities.

As responsible members of their community, in additional to actively supporting AIA OC and the Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California, the firm members are active in various professional and charitable organizations such as the CEB (a joint venture of the State Bar and the University of California), the Orange County Bar Association, the BDA/OC and Easter Seals of Southern California.
