Dynamic Design for “New Seniors” and Beyond Wins Double MAME Awards

Danielian Associates, a national trendsetter in architecture and land planning was honored with two awards at the 29th annual Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence Awards-(MAME). Winners were revealed during the March 27th MAME awards dinner gala, held at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California.

Four Seasons, a K Hovnanian Age Qualified Community in Hemet, California, received double honors: Best Product Design for an Age Restricted Community and Best Age Qualified Community of the Year. Danielian Associates Designers responded to the ever increasing demand for Active Adult communities, catering to “New Seniors.”

Research indicates that “New Seniors” are more financially stable and active than their predecessors; they require more flexible, comfortable designs to accommodate their dynamic lifestyles. Senior housing demands are expected to increase for many years to come. It is estimated that every day for the next 2 decades, more than 10,000 people will be turning 50 across the country. The Baby Boom generation has now reached the age of 55, which means millions of Americans are eligible to enter Age Restricted Communities. Danielian’s award winning design team tailored the floor plans to the requirements of this new market without sacrificing quality. Lead designer Oscar De LA Cruz noted that “The biggest challenge in designing the units was to maximize the livable space and number of bedrooms within the limited one-story footprint without sacrificing the quality of space, functionality and privacy.”

Designers of the winning community achieved the goal of creating architectural elevations that challenge the typical look of price sensitive affordable housing. The plans offer comfortable dimensions and provide ample space for entertaining, relaxing in a tranquil environment or doing a bit of work from a home office.

Probably the most vital spatial component of all these homes is the “activity space” zones, such as great rooms, media rooms, and home office space.

Danielian was also an award finalist for Best Product Design - Detached - under 1,800 sq. ft for Masters, plan 1, also part of the Four Seasons project. Competition was notable this year; MAME drew over 600 entries from the Southern California building industry. “It is a great honor to be recognized in a competition which draws such notable and ground breaking talent.”

Danielian’s Fairway Classics Plan 2, Wins Top Honors At Laurel Awards

The Inland Empire’s Sales and Marketing Council’s 16th annual Laurel Awards selected Danielian Associates “Fairway Classics at Redhawk plan 2,” to receive top honors in the category “ Best Product Design Detached 3601 Square Feet and above.”

Laurel Awards honor superior achievements in design, sales, marketing and merchandising excellence in the Inland Empire.

Fairway Classics, located in Temecula, and built by Richmond American Homes was designed by Irvine based Danielian Associates, who received the award at a gala formal dinner, held Saturday night, May 15th, at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula.

The architecture depicts a Tuscan/ Spanish colonial theme; the elevation features a blend of “s” stucco, tile, and an entry rotunda. Its interior features formal living and dining areas, a family room, a spacious kitchen with center island counter, luxurious master suite with retreat and spacious secondary bedrooms. The standard plan offers 4 bedrooms with a loft. Personalized floor planning options are also available, including a 5th bedroom, optional office, and a 3 car split garage.

Perhaps the most innovative aspect of Fairway Classics is the grand split staircase; creating an elegant dramatic flair throughout the home.

Lead designer Oscar De La Cruz notes…” This house produces an exciting open floor plan layout that is both practical and flexible.”

Plan 2 is one of 3 plans offered in this collection. Homes are selling out, ranging in price between $550, 000 and $650,000 dollars.

Fairway Classics is not a newcomer to awards; Danielian’s design team, also won a prestigious SAM award for the “Best Detached Housing Product Priced $300,000-$450,000 (July 2003) for the Fairway Classics.

36 year old Danielian Associates is highly dedicated to architectural design and client service. The firm has received more than 200 awards and is best known for designs which foster innovation, value engineering, cost effectiveness and environmentally sound solutions.
